Origin of the Heart Guard™ An Emergency Room in north Dallas was the inspiration for the Heart Guard™. The idea for the Heart Guard™ came to the inventor, a physicist, while he waited to learn the fate of his father who had just suffered a massive heart attack. Reflecting upon the facts that the father had the presence of mind to take aspirin while waiting for an ambulance, that the treating ER cardiologist had said that taking aspirin during heart attacks increased chances of survival by 50%, and that almost no one carries aspirin on their person for ready accessibility in case of a heart attack – inspiration came to the physicist for a small aspirin carrier to be attached to a key chain (or other article) that people carry with them at all times. From this idea the Heart Guard™ was born and brought to fruition. This invention is dedicated to the fine father - who took aspirin and survived.
